Jane Gillitt House is a superb Thomas Owen 1840’s built listed building in Southsea and was bequeathed in trust to the Society from a local church that felt our services to the elderly ideally suited the wishes of the late Lady Jane Gillitt who left the house to them for the charitable benefit of people in Southsea. There are currently seven well-appointed rooms and plans are being drawn up to refurbish the western annex sections providing a further 6 rooms.
The house has an attractive walled garden where residents take their morning coffee when weather permits.
The current housekeeper is Miss Gill Page, an excellent cook and dedicated housekeeper who maintains the comfort and happiness of the residents to the highest possible standards. She is assisted by Edna Bartley who has served as assistant housekeeper for over 10 years.
The house is situated within easy walking distance of the major Palmerston Road shopping precinct and close to the seafront.
