Abbeyway House Drayton was purchased by the society in 1989 and extensively renovated with the help of a donation of £25,000 from the League of Friends and a bequest of £83,000 from Mrs Freda White (nee Way), hence the name ABBEY WAY House.
The current housekeepers are David and Annette Carey assisted by Caroline Logyear all are very much respected for their cooking and personal skills and the maintenance of a very attractive garden with flower beds, shrubbery and lawn areas. The lawns and patio have many seats for people to enjoy the summer sun. The garden is of sufficient size to enable keen gardeners to cultivate their own patch.
